CPCI8220

The Emerson Network Power ComStruct CPCI-8200 is a CompactPCI board designed to provide a competitive cost-per-channel solution for Voice over IP (VoIP) applications, such as enterprise media gateways. The CPCI-8200 retains application software compatibility with other Emerson Network Power voice processing products, protecting your development investment.

The ComStruct™ CPCI-8200 has multiple T1/E1 spans for local line termination of circuit switched voice calls, as well as full H.110 capability to interface with intra-chassis line cards. The board is designed to the latest PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG®) 2.16 CompactPCI® Packet Switching Backplane (PSB) standard, to enable redundant Ethernet connectivity within the chassis. In addition, redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports are available on the rear transition module for operation in legacy CompactPCI chassis.

Voice processing is handled with an array of DSPs capable of processing 384 premium voice channels – G.729AB compression, 128 ms tail length echo cancellation, tone detection/ generation, voice activity detection, and comfort noise generation. Call control management and optional user applications are executed on an embedded PowerPC® processor running alongside an embedded network processor which provides interworking functionality between the external and internal network connections.

CPCI-8200 is supplied with FACT-SERVER software embedded on the local control processor. FACT-SERVER software is a low-overhead, text-based call control protocol designed to help reduce your development time. It is operating system and host independent, and requires simple confi guration and management while enabling comprehensive capability.
