This annual award is measured by overall investment, industry leadership and excellence and underscores Emerson’s commitment to making MicroTCA technology market-ready for the telecom, medical, defense and other industries.
“The adoption rate for MicroTCA is accelerating, and key customers are investing resources in this technology in a number of industry segments, including telecommunications, defense and medical imaging,” said Paul Virgo, director of marketing for the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power. “This award shows that customers, industry segments and the ecosystem recognize our innovation and leadership in MicroTCA.”
In 2007, while still an entity of Motorola, the award-winning business announced a number of milestone developments in MicroTCA including:
The industry’s first design-win
Taking the lead in ruggedization initiatives
The latest processor technology on an AMC at an industry-leading price
The MicroTCA leadership campaign has continued in 2008 with innovative plastic packaging that targets enterprise applications, our relentless commitment to smashing through price barriers and an industry-leading product portfolio. Emerson is also participating in several MicroTCA conferences worldwide, giving the market plenty of opportunity to see these innovations first hand.
Another Accolade for Emerson Network Power!
Emerson Network Power’s VME Single Board Computer was awarded the Editor’s Choice Award by VME and Critical Systems magazine for contemporary SBC design. The MVME7100 enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of industrial, medical, defense and aerospace VME platforms to add performance and features for competitive advantage while extending the VME infrastructure lifecycle.
“It’s great to see Emerson Network Power continuing to invest in the VME market, especially with a product that protects and encourages the fundamental investment in VME,” said Chris Ciufo, Group Editorial Director of VME and Critical Systems magazine. “We selected the MVME7100 board as the winner of April’s Editor’s Choice Awards because this VME board provides it all—flexibility, reliability, quality and life cycle advantages—in a contemporary SBC design.”
“In light of the recent acquisition of Motorola’s Embedded Communications Computing business, this award reaffirms Emerson Network Power’s commitment to offer products that will sustain and improve the future of the VME market,” said Jorge Magalhaes, vice president of marketing for the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power. “We will continue to serve our VME customers’ needs by delivering industry-leading solutions that support and strengthen the VME legacy, just as we do with the AdvancedTCA®, MicroTCA™ and CompactPCI® open standards.”
